Made a view type Categories
(http://thewelltemperedcomputer.com/SW/Players/JRMC16/error/detail/DetailView_bestanden/image001.jpg)
When selecting the node in the tree I can choose Thumbnail view
(http://thewelltemperedcomputer.com/SW/Players/JRMC16/error/detail/DetailView_bestanden/image002.jpg)
or Detail
(http://thewelltemperedcomputer.com/SW/Players/JRMC16/error/detail/DetailView_bestanden/image003.jpg)
If I select a specific year I can make the same choice (detail or thumb) the view remains the same

Looks like the toggle between Detail and Thumb doesn't work on sub node level

It seems you're expecting an integration of the Tree and a Categories View that does not exist. If you use the view itself for navigation (double-clicking a category to drill-down to it; using the tab menu to navigate back), whatever List Style is selected will be used and remembered for each level. Selecting a node in the tree causes the Categories View to be replaced with a File List. For reasons I don't understand, List Style still appears in the tab menu, but the style cannot be changed from "Details."
-
What I expects is that if a menu offers a choice between Thumbnails and details is
- If the choice is thumbnails I get albums
- If the choice is details I get the tracks
What I don’t expect is that if I have 2 menu options the result is the same

As you should. I was only clarifying the issue has nothing to do with the Categories View, but the List View (or whatever it's called) used to display the contents of a node selected in the Tree.

This is specific to Categories
If I switch to Panes I can choose 4 different representations and they all work.
Don't see why this should be the case when using Categories

This problem will be fixed in a coming build.

Thanks

Build 171 fixed it.
Great, thanks for the fast response.
A minor detail but I would love to see it fixed.
In Categories view each album has all the elements of the view exposed including “File” on a MouseOver if one select the top of the tree.

Any descendent inside the tree only shows Play on a MouseOver.
Would like to see the same elements as when in the root
