what is the process (cords, hardware) to record tape messages from my tape player to the computer using media jukebox.

Hi,

You can record your tapes using the line-in input of your soundcard.
MJ has many features to help you split tracks and set volume level.
One good start is to check the Line-in recording Howto here on MJ site.

Same should be true for microphone recording.
