Title: Wow! DLNA support rocks
Post by: dhiggins on September 18, 2011, 10:27:54 pm
No problems, I just had to say Wow!

I purchased a copy of MC back when it was MC12 or so (not quite sure), mainly to allow streaming to a TIVO. Well, it worked, kind of, but was pretty problematic.

However, the tagging, and music org was second to none, so I've been upgrading as the new versions come up.

Fast forward to today. I'd put up MC16 on a server a while back to stream music to some patio speakers, and was using the Webremote to control it.

But it was a bit of a pain some times so I was browsing around the Wiki and forums and came across the TRemote, which led me to the DLNA support.

Damnation! When the hell did that feature get added? I can control one copy of MC completely from another copy on another machine? Fan-Dang-Tastic!

This is SO going in a refurbished 1920s radio that I'm turning into a touchscreen jukebox!

Maybe the server can run as a real service now too? I've used FireDeamon for that for so long, I haven't even looked....
