Title: Change Theater View default sub-menu?
Post by: i3c on September 22, 2011, 12:59:52 pm
When I click on Video->Television->Programs, in Theater View, I'd like "Seasons" to be selected as default. Right now it defaults to "Recent". I've tried changing the order of the sub-menus, but that doesn't make a difference, it still defaults to "Recent". Can I change this?
thanks

I'm not familiar with the stock menus, but if "Season" and "Recent" are sub-menu items (i.e., they appear on the secondary roller), then the last-used item should be the default.

It is not working like that for me.

I bet this is some server/client issue.
Like, the clent is getting its last state from the server instead its own history.
(just guessing)

Could be. I'm using a single machine.

Just enter Options - Theater View - Items to Show (or something like that). Find the "Recent" item under Television and move it down one notch. Fixed like magic :)

For what ever problem you have, there is a safe bet that Options is your friend. All new users should look through all the possibilities here.

Changing the order in which sub-menu items appear has no bearing on which one is selected by default. As I said, it should be the last used item. I have no way of confirming it, but i3c has suggested this may not be the case in a client-server environment.

If the default is not set to the last used item, this will help. Even if there is an underlaying problem. It's a quick fix if needed. That's all.

How?

If the first item in the roller is always selected, I thought that rearranging the items would do the trick. But I see how that I was blind ,and did not read that he had tested that. So, just forget everything of the nonsense I wrote!

I'm running a library server and clients my self. I have stock views plus other views, and I've not noticed problems like this my self.
