Post by: KingSparta on September 26, 2011, 02:31:29 pm
Cabbage, Potatoes, Carrots And Salt Pork

I never had salt pork before but i seen it in the store so i figured I would pick it up and taste it.

It is really salty

So I figured this was a good hunk of meat for the crock pot

I added water, the pork and cabbage to the pot and cooked away for 3 hours

I added potatoes at 3 hrs, and carrots at 4 hours

and served at 6 hours when the cabbage was tender in the center.

Very good.

You can slice salt pork like bacon, bread it in flour, then pan fry it.
