Title: Directv box can access dlna server - will play but won't shuffle??

Hi,

I just got some new directv boxes (hddvr 24 & h25) - both are able to access the dlna sever to stream music/videos/photos (currently only streaming music) - I can go to artist's, playlists, albums etc and if I select play - it works - but if I select shuffle - it indicates no files in folder.  I am guessing that this is a directv box issue but wanted to check as I have never set this up before.

As an fyi - I can see both a generic 'dlna server' and 'media center' option when I select the servers - since media center is the only one I have on - not sure why both show.

Any suggestions would be great.  Thanks.

I think "Media Center" is probably your windows media center sharing. You can turn that off if you aren't using it. The Generic DLNA server is MC's default name for it's server.

Thanks.  I did figure that out.  Still won't shuffle though...

It could be that's a specific category unique to the Direct TV box. You could try a smart playlist of random tunes in MC.
