Title: My MC16 Theater View Customizations did not import to MC17
Post by: SmoothJimB on October 27, 2011, 06:45:06 pm
Just purchased my MC17 upgrade, I have great faith in the coming improvements in the TV area to hopefully abandon Beyond TV and bring my TV recording / playback to MC17.

I restored a backup of my MC16 library to get setup with MC17 (with the "restore settings" box checked) but it did not seem to include my highly customized theater view menu structure I have invested a lot of time and effort in.

1) Should it have been brought in?
2) Can it still be?  Even if manually?

MC16 is still my "live" library so I nothing to lose in deleting the MC17 library and starting fresh.

Thanks for the continued improvements.

Sorry, but MC 17 requires a one-time reset of Theater View customization.

Part of this was to accommodate the new television changes, like the grid-style guide in Theater View.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

Looks like I'll start replicating my MC16 Theater View structure in MC17.

Ever think about allowing for users to trade theater view menu structures like you can themes and skins?

We could trade library backups, with all of the file references removed.  The Theater View setup is contained in a Library Backup.

But the Import/Export widget works pretty well.  You can paste them here and use the <code> tags (brackets instead of course) to make them easy to read/use.

Looks like I'll start replicating my MC16 Theater View structure in MC17.

FYI:  To replicate your Theater Views over to 17, you can open MC16 and MC17 side-by-side and copy/paste from one to the other.
