I am trying to connect my laptop (Windows XP) to a library server (Windows 7) on another computer. I can do it fine to a Windows 7 server which is not running Windows Media Player. However, when I try to connect to a Windows 7 server that has Windows Media Player active, MC 16 on my laptop sees the DLNA service from WMP but when I try to put in the key to access the MC library server, it does not connect. The particular problem seems to be a Windows XP laptop connecting to a Windows 7 server. Can I have a DLNA server (Windows Media Player) and a MC 16 library server on the same W7 server system and have my laptop MC 16 access the remote MC library server? I use the WMP server for my TV and my Oppo Blu-Ray player so really want to have both running. Is there some magic to make this work or am I just missing something obvious, which is very possible. Thanks for any help.

The problem seems to be a firewall issue. I have port 52199 open and it does not connect. But, when I turned off the firewall completely I could connect. The other server that I could connected to did not have the firewall running. So, everything should be fine once I figure out the firewall issue.

Interestingly there were 2 entries in Windows Firewall blocking MC 16. I did not put them there. I am not sure how they got there. So I just changed them to allow instead of block and things are now OK. Not sure how the blocking entries got there.
