i have some audiobooks that were mp3 lame encoded at 24khz (instead of normal 44.1) 21 kbps and 16 bit. When played in MC16 they play at double speed (sounds like chipmunks). Theses same mp3 files play normally in WMP.
If i recode them to 44.1khz 64 kbps and 16 bit they play fine in MC16 but are, of course, 2.5 x size on disk.
what am i doing wrong in MC16?

Just taking a stab at this.. But what if you use the DSP settings to upscale them to 44.1 and play them...

Thanks, kensen. Maybe I'm just being a noob but I can't find the DSP setting for upsampling.
I guess my real question is: can MC16 play sampling rates less than 44.1?

Yes.
Try Player > DSP Studio > Output Format > Resample to 44,100 Hz.
