I have been using a 1st generation Nano to test out some conversions from my FLAC library to Mp3/ALAC on the Nano. And it has worked great so far. The files converted quickly and then uploaded quickly.
Now I have a new 6th gen iPod classic. The conversions seems okay enough but the upload speeds are dreadful. Same cables, same USB ports, same everything.
Does anyone know why my 1st gen Nano would operate seemingly normal (fast) and a 6th gen iPod is painfully slow? Are there some settings I can check or change? Seems to be hanging on "Uploading 100%".
Please help...

Try a different USB port. Sometimes the driver in windows gets confused and drops to USB 1.1 for some devices and not others.
