We've had a lot of fun the last few days. On Friday, we set a record for daily sales. It was a 64% increase over the previous record. The following day wasn't far behind.
The first week of November has already passed our normal month in sales, so November should be a record month.
The general trend of sales is a sharp increase. August, September, and October together were up 60% over the same period last year.
Thank you for your support.

start advertising on facebook/social networks (take out an add even!) and i bet you have a rocket year.. I'd be sure to spread the word!

Congrats!
Sorry, but please don't!
The last thing any of us needs is Jim being tempted by the buyout offer from Google!!!
Congratulations either way :) :)
Perhaps the "bonus" could go into the new client/server redesign ;D
-
nice and congrats..
so did matt and bob and the guys and girl got a bonus? they deserve it. ;)
:)

...and record # of new users on the forum,

When do our commission checks get sent? ;D

Nice to hear Jim... It is just a reflection of a quality product, backed by quality support....

I noticed this record a few days ago;
Most Online Ever: 305 (November 03, 2011, 01:57:57 pm)
(from the forum stats)

Very good to hear.
I suspect it has something to do with both Red October and the SageTV-Google thing. Well, that and MC's general awesome-sauce.
-
Congratulations Jim. It is good to hear the program is going from strength to strength.

Congratulations, guys! Over the past 2 weeks, at least 3 of my friends have been very impressed with the software, and have indicated that they'll install it when their home theatres are built.
-
I'll bet it's the emphasis on HTPC (video and TV) now that is drawing the masses in.
-
Congrats Jim. I do my very best to fly the MC flag for anyone who sees my infrastructure over here and says "What software is that?"
Cheers,
VP

I like MC. I'm from Brazil. I dont speak english (google translation), but I bought the license v.17. I'm happy.
MC: my favorite program.
Thanks and congratulations.
Fabricio, from Brazil.

Well deserved, JimH!
I also see a lot of interest here from ex-SageTVers. If I were in charge of things I would be VERY interested in what they're requesting, and once I'd satisfied them I'd go chase more of them out there on the In-ter-net.
Personally it is Red October HQ that is the A-number one mind-blowing feature.
I also like how all these features are so nicely sandboxed within the comprehensive "MC wrapper" (yes, that's a new hip-hop artist).
-
Well deserved guys!
Great to see your hard work paying off!
-
I'll bet it's the emphasis on HTPC (video and TV) now that is drawing the masses in.
I'm trying to replace a whole rack of hardware with an HTPC + MC, Audiolense, Convolver, Lynx Aurora....& more as I figure it out.
-
Congratulations on setting another record. :)
-
Congratulations.....
Very well deserved.
-
A big well deserved congratulations. I hope that sales curve continues its trend!

As others say... Well deserved! I suspect Red October and audio improvements have something to do with this increase. You did top notch work in the MC16 builds and have added quite a few goodies in MC17 already. You're one of the very, very few that actually listens to the users as well. No wonder the word spreads.
-
Well done Jim to you and your team. It is recognition for a dedicated effort supporting your excellent product and of course supporting us, your customers. I have turned 5 new users to MC over the past year since I have been using it......I believe in your product and those people who are prepared to download the trial and have a look if they are serious MC users will be hooked.
Keep up the good work.......thx for the product and a great support forum.
Regards,
Fleetz

that's great news!! ;D

Congrats!
Any chance the long thread in the AVS forum stirred some interest? :)
-
It definitely helped. We've also seen a lot of new audiophile business.

I wouldn't use a computer to play audio without it.
Congrats on moving more units!

It was the sound quality of MC15 mentioned in numerous computer sound forums that led me here in the first place.
That the video playback quality is also great, along with the addition of mt2 stream playback and improved TV integration, well gee, what can I say? This has been a great ride :)

Yeah, I also suspect the video-imrpovments and the focus on a "total media center experience" have helped.
I´m happy for you guys and hope you keep up the development speed and listening to user feedback,
-
You guys rock :D I only hope more people around the globe would be aware of this Masterpiece and enjoy it as much as i do.
Congrats to JimH and the rest of the team :)

Thanks for all the encouragement. We're still having a really strong month. Sometime tonight, probably early in the morning of the 15th, November's sales will pass our previous best month!
We owe a lot to you. All the requests, the prodding, the arm twisting, bug reports and all the times you've told a friend to take a look or posted about MC on another forum. We're extremely grateful.
And special thanks to the JRiver team. We've been through a lot together and we're still friends. I'm proud to be part of it.

...Sometime tonight, probably early in the morning of the 15th, November's sales will pass our previous best month!...
Congratulations. This is a well deserved trend.
-
Congrats.
I have been using MC for years now. Was completely happy with V15. I got 16 just to support the company. Had no plans to get 17, but as soon as I saw the TV grid, I purchased it that day. Keep up the great work

November was our best month ever, topping the previous best (February, 2011) by 45%!
It looks like 2011 will top 2010, our previous best year, by almost 60%.
In January, 2012, we will have been selling media software for exactly ten years.
Thanks for all your support! You're both part of the JRiver brain trust and part of the wallet.
-
I congratulate MC team. Well deserved not only for a wonderful product but also for the creative business model that creates a heavily-invested user community.

It's a simple formula: Industry-leading product, mind-blowing features, great customer support. You guys deserve all that success and more!
-
Congrats from the Netherlands too. Where a lot of people are unaware of your great software because it's never mentioned in Computer magazines or so. I'll try to poke them into your direction.
I'm using MC for 8 years now... I'm getting old.

I just took a look at annual sales trends over the last five years. It's good.
Average growth rate in dollars is just under 20%.
Average over the last three years is just under 40%.

That's very impressive!
Congratulations!

Our media software sales ended the year 2011 up 70% from 2010. I haven't looked, but I think it's the most we've ever increased sales, year on year.
You deserve a lot of the credit. You encouragement and "gentle persuasion" are much appreciated.
-
More happy customers should lead to more happy customers. I predict and hope that 2012 will be even better for you.

Our media software sales ended the year 2011 up 70% from 2010.
May I gently suggest that a portion of that be reinvested into professional 'guidance and help' for new/trial users. I'm sure that any investment in professional grade "training" will pay for itself in conversions from trials?
Of course, I've never seen your conversion numbers, so I can't be positive of anything, but I suspect that better help showing people the wonderful potential will "hook" them into continuing this great journey.
Oh, and make TV better ;D
Seriously, congratulations for the well-deserved success.

It is a testament to what an amazing product you have, and to your team. What you guys do with so few people boggles the mind.

So true...
I'm glad I found MC, I can't remember how I found it because I wasn't even searching for it... It's the best piece of software I have ever come across...
You guys aren't even listed on cnet?? If Mc was on it I would have found it years ago..
You should consider getting it listed, or even getting an editorial review (You'd probably have to show them the capabilities or risk them under rating it)

Jim & Team, this is great news! Much congratulations and back slapping!
A headline news item on the BBC last night was on PC/TV convergance so 'Media' software sounds like will be becoming more popular rather than niche over the coming year or two. JRiver's reputation as a quality product will hopefully tap into some of this mass-market awareness.
I would suggest some better documentation/setup guides/videos though. A not uncommon complaint on other forums for trialists is lack of a step by step easy setup guide. Maybe if you have some money left over you could advertise for a 'summer student' from the local College/Uni to come and work with you for a few months. I bet there would be loads that would relish the chance of some work experience to 'buff up' their CVs. I suggest this because I wouldn't want you to take any of the current team away from their excellent development work!
Oh, and I second JustinChase's proposal for better TV! (I'm so predictable!)

I you make it generic enough, with high level explanations of how things work and focus on the major steps to doing things in MC, then even if something changes, it should still stay fairly relevant.
-
I want to add my congratulations too.
I am a MC newbie, but have had a Video Jukebox for over ten years! I have always seen MC, as I always look for something better. Each time I tried it, it wouldn't do the Videos the way I could "fake" the Audio jukebox we were using into playing videos (Audiosoft's eJukebox). This ver 17 of MC is the best player I have ever tried. Every time I think I want to add or do something, you have already done it and there is an option for it. A fine example. I wanted a Alpha pane similar to what was available in "categories". A quick search found a post where someone had posted an "expression" that did just what I wanted, I thought. Once I went to use it I found it opened each letter of the alphabet when clicked to a new subset. (ie A clicked showed A-ae, af-ap, etc.) I wanted just the Alphabet "filtered" to the artist list. I am clueless with the expressions, but I could see the pattern in it and just changed it a couple times till I got what I want. PERFECT!
And the support from this board is fantastic! Some posts to eJs board wouldn't even get an answer.
Great work and I wish you much success in 2012.
