Title: Problem with ripping.
Post by: aRCLiGHT on May 20, 2002, 04:14:05 pm
Okay.  I found that with my Pioneer DVD reader I am having problems ripping.  When I try to rip, I get a ton of errors.  I even tried with EAC and it took forever with it's error correction.  When I put it in to my Yamaha CD-RW, it ripped without a problem with EAC.  I just downloaded & installed the latest rev so I am about to reboot and test another CD I have had issues with in the Pioneer to see if it rips fine under the Yamaha.  Are there any settings anyone can think of that would cause me to have read errors?  This is really wierd.  The Pioneer should be a better drive as it is much newer than the Yamaha.

Thanks in advance!!

arclight,
I have had similar weird problems when CD drives weren't happy about where they were on the IDE cable.  I was told do switch it to the other IDE channel by a CompUSA tech and it worked.  As you must know, master/slave settings matter.

Knew I should have stuck with a SCSI based system.  Sheesh!!!  My next computer is definately going to be SCSI.  Definately SCSI....  <-- No I am not watching Rainman.
