Title: DVB-T Issues

Tuner: Hauppauge WinTV Nova-T Stick DVB-T
Location: Spain
SO: XP SP3
Config: RO Std. with additioal filters (Black screen with EVR just on TV Playback)

Hi,

I'm having the following issues with TV playback:

1) Video flickers every 8 seconds, either with Timeshift On or Off.

2) Radio Station Channels (Audio only) just work with Timeshift Off.

I wonder if has anything to do with FFDShow and VMR9.  Would it do better if you use madVR (try RO HQ)?

TV support has been built with assumption that there is always video.  I see this can be a problem for audio only channels.  For now you will just have to cancel time-shifting.

With madVR I get:

madVR reports: – creating Direct3D device failed (8876086c)

I have updated the driver (Mobile Intel(R) 945 Express Chipset Family) with worse results: now in VMR9 the video appears distorted, pixelated  :( .

Do you have an alternative video decoder such as Cyberlink Video/SP Decoder?  If so try Red October with additional filters and specify it.

I've tried with Cyberlink Video/SP Decoder and video stills flickering  :( . However, I've noticed that when I do a right click on the video and select DirectShow Filters, I don't see any reference to this filter. Is it normal?

It probably means your selection of Cyberlink decoder did not get used.  Do you still see FFDShow Video Decoder in the graph?  You can copy and paste the graph info to this board (right-click, Copy graph info to clipboard).

The graph shows that MC was using FFDShow video decoder.  It was auto configured by MC, that's why it was greyed.  If you want to experiment with configuring FFDShow, and you have your manually installed version, you can try selecting it in the filter selection.  

It is a bit strange why Cyberlink filter was not used even though you selected it.  When you select additional filters, such as Cyberlink or FFDShow, make sure you select them for file type "JRiver TV (jtv)".  

If nothing else works, you can also try using "Windows Merit Based (less stable)".  It is generally not recommended because it can be very unstable.
