Hello,
I'm having a problem installing convolverVST in J River MC16 running
on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. This is a dedicated music player with no
soundcard. Audio is output through USB to USB to S/PDIF converter to
DAC.
When I try to add plug-in, J River just locks up. I have to go into
task manager and stop the process PackageInstaller.exe*32. As soon as
this process is stopped, J River is fully functional again, but no
convolverVST has been added to plugins.
I tried installing convolverVST in J River on another more normal
computer, Windows XP Pro x32 with soundcard and it installed
flawlessly.
Any suggestions or help will be very appreciated.

Having no sound card might be a problem.

Thanks for the reply. I have onboard audio on the motherboard. I never installed the audio drivers at the time of original setup. I did try installing the audio drivers to see if that made a difference but still have the same problem.
I have an Acer headless Windows Home Server computer that I use for music storage and is set up as the J River music server for my other computers. This computer has no audio card or onboard audio at all. I installed convolverVST on it with no problem at all.

Be sure to read about WHS2011 problems. There is a thread on the MC17 board.
I'm sorry I can't help with the convolver problem.

The WHS version I have is an earlier one (it just shows as Windows Home Server in properties).
