Hi
I have noticed that since i changed to MC17 that when i stream movies to my second instance of MC via internet that around 30 or 40 minutes the movie stops and changes to the next movie in the list without any interaction from my part.
Any one have any ideas why this can happen?
I have the same issue when streaming Mkv, Xvid or dvd's?
Both instances of MC are MC17.

What are you using as the server?

I had wondered if something bad might be happening at the 2GB or 4GB mark.
I just pulled a 16GB movie from Library Server using a web browser and the download perfectly matches the original. So that probably rules out Media Center as the server being an issue.

I have MC17 as server and the client are using MC17 aswell on the client i have added my servers library with the access key.
Server is:
Dualcore 2.6
8Gb memory
1 Gb video nvidea video card.
Win 7 64bit
client laptop:
intel core I7 dual core 2.67
4Gb memory
win 7 64bit
Nvidia NVS3100M 512Mb
Connection out to internet from server 10Mb and my office download speed is 50Mb so bandwidth should be more than enough.

Have you tested on the same LAN? It's always possible something at your company kills the stream.

I will try at home and see if there is any difference but i'm the manager of that internet line so there is no firewall blocking going around.
I'm currently running a video now on the connection i've explained with log's enabled so if it happens again i will have a log that hopefully that can tell me/us what's going on.

It's also possible an ISP drops the connection. A local test will tell you more.

I have noticed something similar/the same when playing files over my home network. if the server becomes busy (like when unpacking and rebuilding files after SABnzbd finishes downloading the pieces), my playing video goes black, sound stops and several seconds later (maybe 15-30) it just loads up the next file in the playlist and plays it, like it's just given up on trying to get the rest of the file, so it moves on to the next.
I just figured it was my network problem, so I didn't report it, but it sounds very similar to this issue.
Can you tell/find out if the machine serving the video is getting bogged down with something else? I think that's what caused my issue, but i've only seen it happen 2-3 times in the last week or 2, and haven't spent any effort trying to test/identify the cause yet.
In my case, I'm connecting to the library directly (not as a client), but the library is hosted on the server, if that matters.

Oh, and this is for SD TV shows, so under 1GB files in my case.

The movie switched now for me.
even if it's just a stream over the internet would you be intrested in the log? and if so where should i send it?
i will do a LAN test tomorow and see how that works out.
