I'm using the latest 17.0.38.
I believe Media Center is detecting my PAL DVD copies on my HDD as NTSC.
My desktop backgroud is set to 50Hz.
When playing a PAL DVD copy from my HDD Media Center changes the refresh rate to NTSC (59Hz) when it should be leaving it as 50Hz as I have specified in: Options ---> Video ---> Display Settings.

I reported a similar/related issue recently with DVD optical discs. The first thing that played was a movie trailer and MC switched to 60hz/NTSC for that. The problem is once the feature film starts, which is 50fps/PAL, MC does not do another refresh rate change. I had to pause the start of the film and manually switch.
There's some tweaking needed with this I think.

I can also do the opposite.
Set my desktop on my TV to NTSC (59Hz).
Then set Options ---> Video ---> Display Settings --- >NTSC to a value of 50 and MC will switch to 50Hz when playing a PAL DVD from my HDD.
So it seems like it's detecting it as NTSC and applying the refresh rate change above.
I'm in Australia and have recreated this with with 3 different PAL DVD's on my HDD.
Thanks.

have a look at the Fps tag. It should say 59. Otherwise correct it and test again.

I am seeing the same thing. PAL DVD's are being imported as NTSC, so I am getting the wrong value in the FPS field.
TLS.

Hey guys, I think we know what the problem is. We're examining the video presented by the DVD navigator filter which may be not match what's actually in the main title. We'll get this fixed in an upcoming release.

Great! I look forward to seeing this issue resolved...as would a few others I would imagine.
Thanks.
