Hello...sorry for my bad english.. :-[
I have a problem with Gizmo..
Why Gizmo required a Internet access to work??
In my house in the mountains..i have a router wireless.but not a Internet access... :'(
Help me.... ;)

I have the same problem. If I plug my wireless router into the internet it works perfectly. I can then unplug the internet connection and the Gizmo will continue to work. However, if I try to set up a connection as you describe "intranet" only with no external internet access I cannot get the Gizmo to work. All documentation I've read says it should work without internet access.
I really need help on this as well, as we have an upcoming demonstration that we plan to use this in a venue that will not have wired internet access.

Found the same thing here. Shame as I sometimes just have a local LAN network with no Internet access. Not sure how Gizmo caches IP addresses, but I also sometimes have to wait while it scans various subnets for the MC server. Would be useful to be able to specify an IP address in the config. Overall I love the performance of the app, but a few little details need attending to I feel.

Id like to also request that gizmo be available without checking into jriver servers first. I tried connecting this morning, but was unable to connect until interact became available again. I don't think it's reasonable to make my ability to connect to my home server dependant upon interact being functional.

We understand that it's a problem. We just don't have a solution yet.

Digging up this thread...
Are there any news on this subject ?
Gizmo's wiki says it will remember the last IP used., but I tried just this morning, and it doesn't. Gizmo keeps waiting on "looking up access key".
Unless the wiki means "the first time" as "the first time of each session", which doesn't really help...
This is a very critical issue for me, since the jriver system will be installed on a... boat, with no internet access most of the time.
Am I missing something, or is there any workaround ?
Thanks for any info !

Didn't realize this thread was under "devices".
Asking the same question under "remotes" now....

You can also enter an IP:Port address in recent versions of Gizmo to connect to directly.

I have only just found this post. I started a new one on the same subject. Clearly my search skills need work.
Anyway the last post indicated that you can enter an IP address and port number. I have just downloaded and installed Gizmo and can't find this option.
I too want to use Gizmo without internet connection. So any help would be useful.
Thanks

I've run JR for years both 21 on Linux and 25 on Windows. Everything is seamless as long as there is an internet connection.
I want a player in my RV. No internet connection is available, only a LAN. I have not found a way to even get simple things accomplished without an internet connection. Gizmo will not connect. I cannot import a library from an external drive. Media Player has stopped working and will shutdown....

If you have a LAN working, Gizmo will work. Check your firewall. Ports 52100 to 52200 should be open.
Both the computer and your phone need to be on the same network.
You could set it up once on your home network, then move to the RV.
