Title: Amazon Instant Video
Post by: bspachman on December 01, 2011, 12:40:57 pm
Is there any way to add the Amazon streaming movie service to MC17 manually? I've played around with it a little bit, and haven't had any success.

I guess ideally, we would treat it like the Netflix options....

Thoughts?

Unfortunately, Jeff Bezos never calls.

Jeff, if you're reading this, I'm matt at jriver.

Your services could be so much better with a top-tier desktop and couch-friendly player.

I'll leave him a message. I think he's either at the Long Now clock or the spaceport today...

The best I have been able to do is add a link to the amazon instant video webpage in my theater view.  Click on that and then grab the keyboard.  At least I don't have to exit media center to watch a movie.

Here here!

I'd use the Amazon Instant Video service CONSTANTLY if I could use it through MC.  As it is, I usually just fire up iTunes if I need to rent something in a pinch.  I have absolutely no desire to use the web video player or whatever junk they have available for desktop use.  As annoying as iTunes is, at least I can get it to work with my remote control.

Heck, I'm a Amazon Prime member so I get all sorts of content free, and I still never use it because the user experience is so annoying from the couch.

It is horrible via a Roku as well.
