Gentlemen,
I have a few different versions of 16 saved on my network but each one has their own issues that cause problems for me. I would like to be able to download other versions to try and find one that works best for my setup. Where can I go to do this? I have the latest but am having graphical problems appear randomly. Other versions don't have this problem but do have their own unique issues.
PLEASE let me know where I can go, do you have an ftp site?
Thx.

I believe older versions tend to be pulled. It would be best for everyone if you gave more details of your issues and let the dev team sort them out for you. The community might have work arounds for you, too.
-
I appreciate your asking to help but please be advised I have attempted to get issues resolved in the past and have found it easier to just try other versions as like I say behave differently. Given I have used the last version of 16 and it has graphical problems I don't believe the team would continue to create new versions of 16 would they?
.181 is the last version and the graphical issue is too difficult to explain fully, all I can tell you is after the software has been running for a while weird things start to happen, the upper portion of the JRM window dissappears and other windows underneath appear in it's place.
Everytime I've tried to fix a problem by going to a newer version I usually end up fixing one and having a new one or two.
Surely there is somewhere to go for all the other versions that have been created?

That sounds like a video driver problem. Did you try updating it?
-
yep and okay I have concluded you are correct but for some reason only affected your software, however I would still like the ability to try other versions to resolve other issues but apparently i'm not going to get that am I?
your next question is going to be what other problems. You can do a search for my login name and you will see recent questions that have yet to be answered including a screen saver question
thank you for the help, seriously
-
If you have an unanswed question, try "bumping" the thread. If you still don't get an answer, it probably means nobody knows the answer.
-
then that's where we are at, no one has an answer

I've had that with my old system. Usually after my machine had gone to sleep at least once with MC running. Have you looked for new drivers?
-
I just installed the latest from nvidia and will see what happens. I'm running a GT240 and a 9000 series, 4 displays, 2 on each, The GT240 is the main display.
-
Try to update the DirectX drivers as well. Graphical issues might be both video card drivers and DirectX related. As very few others have graphical problems with the MC16 or other versions, I suspect it's something else than the program it self. EVEN though you only notice the problems in MC16. Few programs uses the GPU in the EXACT same way, so that is probably the reason why you don't see it in other programs.
-
Isn't the DirectX drivers already included in the nvidia drivers or a part of the windows update which I have running all the time?
-
DirectX version that is shipped with windows is normally old, and I do not think this is updated. Run this check, and it'll update to the newest version:

The dxdiag says little except for what major DirectX version is installed. It tells you nothing of what versions is available today, and I'm not expert in DirectX. I only know it's important for some parts of MC. I bet there is many different smaller versions as well. At least it was in earlier versions.
Run the update tool to be sure you have the latest and greatest. I will not spend more time guessing what it is, before the obvious problems have been ruled out.
-
okay, replaced the suspect video card and put a new one in, drivers are all up to date, problem still exists.... again, after detaching display the top of the main jrm window disappears. actually not limited to this scenario, other odd graphic behaviors, again only in jrm, no other program on this machine has an issue
I'd attach a screen shot but don't know how.
-
Do you have something against an up to date DirectX version or what? Why do you go to all this trouble when the solution might be just a few clicks away?
-
I updated before swapping out cards and it did not help.
-
Can you post a picture?
-
If it is like the issue I had a screen shot will not show the issue. I think I had to take a picture.
-
Sorry, but can you tell me how to attach a picture? I see the icon to attach an image but it just puts (http://) img in paranthesis.
