Title: Can't escape album display

I bought MC 17 after trying out MC 16, which I was starting to get comfortable with. There seem to be more times when the screen opaques and I have to wait.  The most annoying glitch is I put the display screen up and the controls don't show at the top, nor will the escape work. I have to ctrl alt del and shut down and start over.  Of course I always blame the operator. What am I doing wrong?

The screen fading may happen when trying to read the disc.  A disc spinning up or a virus checker could cause it.

Controls not showing is odd.  When it happens, try Ctrl-1 through Ctrl-5.  Try the options under General/Behavior.

Try Tools, Options, General, Behavior, Jump on play = none.
Sometimes I end up in this situation too. Remember NOT to press ESC, press Stop on the play control bar with the mouse instead.
