Title: Drop Box
Post by: locust on December 15, 2011, 06:29:50 pm
Would it be possible/allowed to run a portable copy of MC from dropbox?

Edit

I don't mean off the actual web page, I mean the application they give you that syncs your files between computers

That's an interesting idea. In theory it should, since each one of the folders/contents are on your computer as well as online. But it might be tricky dealing with different libraries on different computers, unless of course you plan to keep your media files in Dropbox too.

I think it might be worth exploring. Dropbox probably isn't used widely enough that many people here (if any) have tried it, so you may not get any responses here. I do use it, but it never occurred to me to install MC into it.

I think quite a few of us use Dropbox.  I sure do!

But it also never occurred to me to install MC in portable mode there.  That might be kind-of cool, but I just use local installations of MC on any computer where I want to use MC regularly, so it isn't really a big issue for me.

I bet it'll work though.

I don't know if it would do anything really useful but would be quite cool to try out
