Hi all
I am trying to set up for a 25th wedding anniversary party at home and will be projecting a video onto my wall. I would like to use Media Center to do that. The issue I am facing is that if I use HDMI output to the projector, I do not get sound. What options do I have to direct the sound, ideally to my stereo system?
A relatively low quality option is to use the headphone output on my laptop, but the sound card stops working when I use HDMI to output video. Maybe audio out from the projector, but then I am dependent on D/A on the projector and (a) I am not sure how good it is, and (b) cabling will be a nightmare.
Any suggestions? Can I direct audio to USB and and use a good D/A? Not sure how to do that if it is at all possible.
Thanks.

You can have video on hdmi and audio on another functioning device. Are you able to select normal speaker output when you use the hdmi video output ?
In MC when you configure audio, it gives you a list of all output devices. Any one in there you can use ?
