Title: export to itunes & iphone
Post by: shAf on December 24, 2011, 09:56:59 am
My search turned up old threads associated with older versions of MC.  Can someone please explain under what circumstances (or configuration) this "export to iPod" actually works.  That is, I check'd just the iPod (iPhone, not iTunes) and MC17 prompts me to "select at least one destination"(?)  If I select both, it creates the playlist in iTunes, but does not write to the iPod device(??)  I can however have iTunes write the playlist to my iPhone (iOS 5), but that creates conflicts with sync'ing via my Mac computer that's in charge of sync'ing contacts and apps ...

Blame Apple if you want, but the MC17 option for exporting from the MC library to the iPod device is there, and by implication should work ... correct???  Please advise ...

TIA, and Holidays' Cheerios  :)

I hope no one minds me bumpng this topic -- I simply cannot believe JRiver thinks this function is insignificant enough to be unsupported(?)

One thinks of an old flame whose name and circumstances are better left unspoken to one's current flame.

I looked on the Apple Developer site and the SDK hasn't changed since 2009 but it looks like this function broke in iTunes 10.5.
I wonder if Apple is dropping support for it??

I imagine the reason this doesn't work has something to do with Apple somehow making it difficult for JRiver ... but JRiver keeping the function in MC misleads all of us, making us believe we are doing something wrong (... hence my OP ...)
