Title: Editing 'Recently Imported' Playlist?
Post by: Chronic on December 27, 2011, 06:03:11 am
Is there a way to edit the 'recently imported' playlist so it keeps more tracks in there?

Like set a date from/to?

And i'd like to make it so it only shows audio tracks, not videos, images etc...

Cheers!

Create your own smartlist, that defines the criteria you want.  Ask if you need help.

The recently imported view is a pain - it has a mind of it's own.

What you can do is go to the 'Recently Imported' playlist and EDIT the smartlist rules/columns etc to set it up how you like and then make sure you go to:

Tools->General->Advanced

And set 'Clear Recently Imported' to Remove Old Tracks, but can also leave it polluted with old imports depending on your smartlist.

But this at least gives some persistence to your view.

But note, that if you fail to import within a given timescale (don't know what that is) the view will reset to the default MC view wiping all your settings.

Very frustrating.

I've asked previously for the ability to tell MC what view to use after import.  That way we have total control over what is displayed...

cool, so i went into smartlists & now i just use the 'Imported this month' playlist rather than 'Recently imported'

But id really like to set one up that has, say 500 of the most recently imported audio tracks

When i try & create it myself i make one that has for the last 10 weeks & limit it to 500 items, audio files. But the playlist isn't showing the most recent items, the most recent stuff its showing is 25th december, when ive definitely imported lots since then

Some help with the settings would be appreciated ;)

Create a new smartlist. Click the Import/Export button, then copy this into the box.

[Media Type]=[audio] ~sort=[Date Imported]-d ~n=500

I created a "Date Imported (nested)" custom list field with the following rule.

formatdate([date Imported,0],yyyy\MM /(MMMM/)\dd)&datatype=[list]

I use this in a view scheme to display imports by date, month, etc.
Love it.

Looks like this:

2011
    12 December
          31
          30
    11 November
          30
          26

[/list]

lise - FYI: add [ nobcc ]   [ / nobbc ] around the [ list ] BB Code in your post, so the expression will appear as you intended (remove the spaces within the brackets).

Thanks MrC.
Fixed, but the software still included an 'end list' ([/list]) at the bottom of my post. Odd.

Yup, the SMF forum auto-adds the LIST BB Code when it sees a lonely one.  You'll have to remove the auto-inserted codes.

You could also have "Imported Today or Imported Yesterday (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=56487.0)", as opposed to the "In the past 24 hours" MC gives us in the guise of "Today" by default :)
