Title: Playlist on Samsung BD-D5500 via DLNA
Post by: LeoKurz on December 29, 2011, 02:01:20 pm
Hello,

I have a problem with a Samsung BD-D5500 using Mediacenter 16.0.181 as DLNA server. I see all content all right and I can play music but I don't see any playlists. I already started "Samsung BD/TV" as DLNA server type but no help. I use a Onkyo TX-8050 with the same Mediacenter and DLNA server type "Generic DLNA" an I can use all my playlists, including the smartlists all right. Anyone any idea? Is the device capable of playlists via DLNA at all? The manual says it can use playlists, but if that's true for DLNA operation as well, I can't tell.

The Sammys have a proprietary mode (that we support) to eliminate the top-level category in DLNA. (so when you go to Audio, you don't see Audio/Image/Video) like you see on everything else.

This means you don't see the root level playlist view. The solution is to customize the view to show playlists under Audio and you can specify that only audio material shows up under the audio playlists, etc...
