Title: Using Replay Gain when burning audio CDs?
Post by: Solomon on September 17, 2003, 03:16:13 pm
Go to the "CD Writer Settings"  dialog box by going to "Burn CD", then "Options", then "Settings".

I see a checkbox for normalizing the audio files (which to me seems like a pretty useless feature) but I see no option of applying the Replay-Gain instead.  Replay-Gain is musically meaningful, whereas normalization is pretty much arbitrary, due to the wide variation in dynamic range and compression among different recordings.

I'm sure there may be people who find normalization useful, but for the rest of us, could you add an option to "apply radio gain before burning"?

Thanks,

Solomon

This option is available in MC9. It's highly unlikely that it will ever be added to MJ8.
