Title: No subtitles with DLNA across 2 MC!
Post by: uptaker on January 09, 2012, 07:38:35 am
Hello everyone!

I liked Media Center since the 1st time I installed it, and really want to stick with it.

But I have been trying to search the forums and find a solution to this issue, without any luck so far.
I have a simple setup: 2 Media Centers, on in my main PC, and the other one in my notebook which is connected to my TV (HDMI cable)

The problem is that I can't seem to display subtitles in my notebook, when connecting to my main PC library using DLNA.
I have tried checking "DLNAExtra and Present Subtitle resource" in my main PC MC, but Notebook's MC always display "n/a" under Subtitles menu.

If I watch the film in my main PC, I can see the subtitles without any issues.
They are in .srt, with the same film filename.

Tried using MC 16 and the latest MC 17 Beta. No luck so far.
And the setup is a MC connecting with another MC, which should be simple enough

Am I missing something simple here? Does anyone have any lights?

Thanks a lot!!

Try turning any conversion off.

Try turning any conversion off.

I have set all Conversion to "never convert" in my DLNA server configuration.
Also made sure Video conversion is set to "None" under Client options.

Subtitles menu still show "n/a".
Curiously, videos with dual audio do present an option to switch the stream, and so I can switch between Audios.

Any other ideas?

Thanks!

Has anyone been able to setup a DLNA streaming across 2 MC's? Does it correctly display subtitles?
If someone has this set up, then I will put more efforts investigating the issue.

If that set up doesn't work with subtitles at all, I will give up.
Tks
