Started new thread last one got convoluted.
I notice you can control an already playing video > Player but if you try to start a video it plays in the browser instead. Should be an easy fix as the behavior is correct with WebRemote.

Video seems to always play in the browser, whichever "Play to" destination you choose. Audio works OK.

Thanks, yes that's what I'm saying. Notice it does work with WebRemote and in WebGizmo you CAN control (pause, volume, etc.) the video once playing on the player

i cannot get audio to play on anything but the iphone - when i "click to change" it still plays on iphone no matter what I choose.
This whilst not exactly what you have, seems related...?

Works fine for me. Do you have the latest version of MC (17.0.75) there are some fixes for WebGizmo in it.

yes im on the latest version 75.
do i need to select anything other than "use media network..." in the media network tab of "options"??
it can see all my media and can play everything on the iphone, just not play it thru the PC (connected to my hifi).
am i using the correct url:
192.168.1.16:52199/libraryserver/

Audio has worked OK although video didn't. I think that is fixed now although I haven't tried it. Audio works fine on my iPhone and iPad. Are you choosing Player on the Play to page?
For your server IP, use:
192.168.1.16:52199/gizmo/
to take you directly to Gizmo.

yes picking player.
I then get the Home page
and underneath it says "playing here (click to change)"
Bizarre!
Even if i click to change its the same deal, no matter what i pick it ALWAYS says "playing here (click to change)" and plays on the iphone!!
I jsut tested on friends ipad and it works though!!
Do I need to clear iphone cache or something - I'm not sure how to do that though??!

Very strange! Are you on ios5? I know there were some significant changes to Safari.
I don't think this is a caching problem but you can clear the cache by going to Settings > Safari and Clear cookies and data. It's worth a try.

For me via Android, WebGizmo playing video to PLAYER now works :)
