Title: Beer stealth at CES with Engadget
Post by: JimH on January 12, 2012, 07:54:32 pm
I'm at CES in Las Vegas today and tomorrow.  I'll post a few pictures later.  I had some fun with engadget tonight.  They've never given JRiver a look though I've tried a few times.  Yesterday I read that they had no beer in their outdoor booth, so today I bought some and got the guy I bought it from to deliver it to them with my card, and "Compliments of JRiver".  Maybe they will remember us now.

Nicely done. Representing many of the various nations there... I never thought beer could be politically correct.

I just had a conversation today about how good Corona beer is with the key limes from our tree.  Perhaps I'll have to pick up a few this weekend.  Cheers.

To be fair, Engadget is about gadgets, they rarely ever touch software as it is. :)

They give XBMC a little love from time to time.  Anything Apple, firmware, etc.

Anyway MC is a gadget hub / magnet.

Does anyone still go to Engadget now that The Verge (http://www.theverge.com/) is live?  The whole AOL Way/Huffington thing leaves a bad taste...

I stopped by their building before I left yesterday.  I got a couple of thank yous.  They said they weren't allowed to have a beer on the premises so they took a few back to their rooms.

Hah!  Their trailer is right next to The Verge trailer!  Awkward....

PS. Did you get to meet tnkgrl (Myriam Joire)?  That would be pretty cool.

Also, by the way, I jest engadget a bit.  They still do some good work.  I do have trouble motivating myself to go there now after I get my gadget-fix at The Verge, but I'm mostly kidding.

They gave PowerDVD a little love today:

I wish I'd known you were at CES. I would have bought you a beer :)
