Title: Prevent blu ray from playing when Windows Starts?
Post by: greg.smalter on January 14, 2012, 08:53:54 pm
I have MC set up to automatically play blu rays (using AnyDVD) when I insert a disc. This works. But, if I keep the disc in and later restart my computer, the disc plays as soon as I start up. Can I do anything to AnyDVD or MC to prevent this from happening? I know I can set AnyDVD to not AutoStart, but it needs to be running in order for the playback to work at all (correct me if I'm wrong), so I need it to auto start.

It sort of sounds like a bug with AnyDVD.  It shouldn't cause new media events to get fired on a reboot.

I'm not sure how we could work around it, because a user could pop a disc in right at boot.

For what it's worth, I use DVDFab Passkey and haven't seen this.

Anyone else?  Any tricks to fix it?

This also happens for DVDs and CDs for me. No matter what disc is in the drive, MC tries to play it as soon as the HTPC boots up.
