Hello to all!
I will purchase MC for my new HTPC. The question is, can I keep my lossless ALAC or not? If yes, which format would do best.
I'm surfing thru the wikis, FAQs and forum sites to get an overview about the detailed features of latest release. Unfortunately some links are not dated and others do not name the related release.
Sure you can unearth the truth!
In "Supported File Types" I found this:
AAC Audio (m4a, m4p, m4b, aac), AIF Audio (aif, aifc, aiff)
In "Audio" you can read this:
More
MC fully supports all lossless formats of audio (FLAC, APE, ALAC, WM), AIFF and WAV files (including tagging)
Please give me the facts.
Regards
hajuniwu

Welcome. MC17 can organize and play ALAC files. It doesn't encode to ALAC.
