Hello,
I can't succeed to play wma DRM protected files :
"DRM license Acquisition Error"
Both WMP and WinAmp plays these files without any difficulties !
It's really boring because I'm using equalization capabilities of MC17 and I can't use another software to play those files.
Am I the only MC user to have such difficulties ?
PS: it's a Windows 7 64 bits computer
-
What is the source of the files?
-
all files were downloaded from my internet provider music site "Neuf music"...
but they play fine with WMP and Winamp...
MC17 is not able to play any DRM protected files ?
-
Hello, does someone would like to give me some help :'( I've hundreds of good jazz music but I can't play it ...
-
luckyluke, please try the latest Media Center 17.
WMA with DRM files are playing for us, at least if they're playable in WMP.

I'm having trouble off-and-on in playing WMA files that I've downloaded with my Zune Pass. I'm actually trying to play them over a network. Here's the setup:
I have JRiver MC17 installed on two computers. On the computer where I have my music (included DRM'ed Zune Pass music), all music plays fine. But on the other computer on the network I can only get non-DRM'd files to play. This isn't always the case, though. Sometimes Zune Pass music plays without a hitch, other times it doesn't. This is just the first time I'm reporting it. When I try to play the Zune Pass music, I get something like the following error: "DRM acquisition error."
This may be out of JRiver's hands and instead a problem with MS, but any help would be appreciated.

Maybe you can get a clue to your problem starting here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff562130(v=VS.85).aspx

Matt,
I've tried using 17.0.122 but no more success !
-
Make sure that MC has access to the internet. If your firewall is blocking MC or its bits (Jworker, etc), then it can't verify the license.
-
Still impossible to play my DRM protected files using MC17 (17.0.155) :
- MC has access to internet (I'm listening to internet radio)
- Both Winamp and WMP play those files
thanks for advices

WMA with DRM files are playing for us, at least if they're playable in WMP.
Don't know if this helps, or adds to the confusion, but I have had some recent experience with this issue:
I am required to view DRM protected wmv files for a college course I am taking. The college gave me a user name and password.
If I try to view the file with MC 17.0147, it either freezes or just continuously pauses with the message: Acquiring DRM rights.
However, I have found that, if I first open the media with WMP, it will prompt me for user name and password. Once I input these, I can then close WMP and open the file in MC 17.014. Unfortunately, if I reboot or just wait a long time I have to repeat the process. WMP will not play the file either until the password is input again.
MRPRO
Just thought I would ad my experience....

Thanks Mrpro, but playing files in WMP or WinAmp before does n't help ...
What can I do to help solving this issue ? It's really boring to be obliged to use another media player only for those files !
-
Anybody there ?
Still impossible to play my DRM protected files...
I can use WMP for that but it's quite unsatisfactory especially because my listening system needs specific corrections and I bought MC for its capabilities in this matter :'(

Luckyluke Have you tried Converting the files? Audials One V9 Full Package version does it. It also is a radio where you download songs from the radio. You can purchase different parts of the program or the full package. I think there are at least different parts of the program & each are 29.99 of the full package 79.99.

Thanks for your suggestion musicman, but I already paid for MC17 and I'd really appreciate to make it works 8)
-
What version are you using? 17.0.182 is available.
-
hello Jim, a delayed answer due to holidays ;)
I'm using 17.0.182 release without more success... but it's no longer a problem because my provider has just stopped its offer !
Thanks anyway
