Hi,
I currently use MC17 to play my music files via a usb DAC and bluray using TMT player through the HDMI output.
I would like to use MC17 to play my blurays, is there a way of MC17 to send bitsteam audio through HDMI, but when i play a music file use the usb dac.
Can you tell me if there is a way to do this without manually having to go into the audio settings? even if there was a way to do this via a key stroke shortcut that would be workable.
thanks

Go to Tools > Options > Video > and set Video Mode to Advanced - Custom. Then click "Custom Video mode settings" and select either Red October or Red October HQ. Add a rule and set the type to Audio Renderer. Now select your audio renderer. If you want this to apply to all video files, and not just ones of a specific type, you don't need to specify conditions. It defaults to "all". You can also use the conditions field and enter the types of video files or container for use with the custom audio renderer. Once this is setup, JRiver will automatically change audio renderers depending on the media type. .
Edit: Added glynor's comment from below.

Thanks, I added this to my post so I can paste it easier in the next thread that asks the same question.

I've posted these instructions at least twice recently.
I was firing up the Interact search (and sighing) when I saw this topic, and then I was delighted to see that you'd answered the question perfectly before I got to it.
Here's a recent thread: http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=69196.msg465608#msg465608

No worries. I wasn't complaining. It is a common request right now for people just trying out the video engine for the first time.
It is a slightly more advanced use of the system, and Matt recommends against it (he'd argue that you should just use the regular MC audio engine, creating zones if you need to switch to different outputs). But if you always want video audio to go one place and audio audio to go another, then this is the best solution. With "Matt's Way" you'd have to manually switch Zones before starting playback, which isn't ideal.
At least until we get some kind of conditional auto-loading Zone mechanism, which would be sweet!

Yes it would, and it has been requested quite often lately for some reason.
