Title: Auto run "rename, move and copy" on files from auto-import folder (possible?)
Post by: nrc on February 06, 2012, 11:39:59 pm
I'd like to have an auto-import folder that behaves like a "drop box". The idea is that you download new music to this folder and not only does Media Center import it into the library, but it *automatically* runs the rename/move, filing it in the proper location based on your defined scheme.

For background: I've got Amazon MP3 Downloader running on my media server. It's configured to automatically download everything I buy. This is nice because I can buy music from any number of PCs or my phone and they automagically show up in my media library.

It seems to me that years ago when you did any sort of import, Media Center would move files this way based on a default rule in Settings (perhaps, I'm remembering this wrong).

In any case, I'm wondering if this is possible today with an internal setting or plugin? If not, would this be something considered for a future release?

Unless there is some third party plugin I haven't heard of, the answer is no.
