Title: Purchasing J River

Sorry if this is in the wrong spot. I couldn't find a specific location for newbie questions.
I am considering purchasing J River Media Center 17. Once I do, does that mean I get all updates free till the next version, Mc 18?  If so, when the next version comes out will I have to buy that or can I stay with MC 17 for as long as I want?

Yes.  Minor upgrades until 18.0 are free.  Just download and install.

You can stay with MC17 forever if you wish.

Thanks for the info. I am currently enjoying the 30 day trial. Am I better off to wait for the release of MC18 or is that quite a ways off?

I would just purchase it now. V18 probably won't come out for 6-9 months. When it does come out, the upgrade to the next version is offered at a reduced price and usually costs around $15-$18.
