Title: iTrax download PCM 24/196 not recognized by JRiver, but will play from Win. Expl

I downloaded a 24/196 file from iTrax, which was said to be "PCM" in a WAV format.   The file will play in JRiver if I start it by double clicking on the file in Windows Explorer (JRiver is my default player, so clicking on a file in Windows Explorer will start it).  BUT, I cannot get the file to import into JRiver or show up in JRiver under Audio files.  JRiver will not recognize or show the file. 
I have gone through the hoops, such as clearing the library and starting over, but that does not help.
What is puzzling is that the file plays (and sounds good) from Windows Explorer, but not from JRiver. 
Is there something special (odd) about a PCM file that makes JRiver "blind" to the file?

Is the file extension wav?

Are your auto import options set to import wav?

The extension is wav.  And I have autoimport set to import wav and flac, and the path is correct as other files do import correctly.
