Title: Cancelling Time Shifting kills audio
Post by: CountryBumkin on February 28, 2012, 04:33:54 am
I don't really have a reason to cancel Time Shifting, but if I do the Audio stops working. I am just reporting this in case you want to take a look. Maybe its a bug - maybe its just may machine. Logs attached.

Thanks for reporting it.  This is a known issue to happen on certain computers.  TV in non-time-shifting mode still uses a lot of pre-Red October code.  As a result, Microsoft audio decoder is loaded instead of LAV.  The Microsoft filter would not decode AC3 audio outside of an Microsoft application and will only work in pass-through case.
