Title: MP3Pro Support
Post by: KirkS on May 08, 2002, 09:41:03 pm
Will there be support in v8 for MP3Pro files either in the application or via plug-in?

KirkS,

You can use winamp mp3pro plug-in with Media Jukebox.

Encoding, just click on the link to see why we are not going to implement it for a while
http://mp3licensing.com/royalty/index.html

To make it simple we will have to add at least $15 to the price of Media Jukebox to include MP3Pro encoder.

Would any of you pay that price just for encoder/decoder?

Regards,
Nikolay

I will pay $15 more for a new good format.Kind of Ape 4 times smaller with a only 20% quality loss

BUT NOT A CENT for such a junk as mp3pro who is much much much worse than Windows format

To JimH
It is the kind of plug you may have to offer to people, against money of cause

I had a look at the link and saw the prices. If i have millions$ i would fund a team to put out org vorbis players. With hard drive or  dicmans

Hi

I agree wholeheartedly with Zevele.

Development on this encoder probably started 4 years ago, when the standard hard drive was 3Gb and size was everything. Now we have humungous hard drives, and quality not space is the issue. Besides, I reckon it will take them at least ten years more to get it sound better than two baked bean cans connected by a piece of string.
