I've been trying for days to figure out why on my new builds that my favorite mini view skins are not sticking where they are being placed.
I've always had blade miniview centered right above my toolbar...

But everytime i reboot/ or leave standard view and go back to mini view. it moves the mini view bar to the same spot everytime as shown in pic below... not to where the last location was.

any ideas guys?

just installed 17 on laptop, and on htpc. and those machines the blade skin, and paradigm skin. both loose focus of where you place them.

Don't know if this will help but hold down ctrl while dragging the mini skin and close from the file menu if available in the skin it makes windows remember for some programs.
If the menu is not visible by default try pressing the alt key which may make it appear.

Thanks fo reply Scolex... No go.. tried CTRL hold drag to center off screen right above taskbar. hit power button on blade, then reopened was brought back to original spot as seen in pic one in post 1.
I also tried this on the other PC running win 7 with newest jriver version, and no go.

I had the same problem when I updated to MC17 on Win7. Here's how I fixed it:
When you switch out of the mini view skin it attempts to write back a file called state.xml to the folder containing the skin. In MC17 the skins\mini view folder is under Program Files which by default is not writable by User. So the mini view fails to write back its position and any other state.
Go to the folder of skin you want to fix. Right-click and select properties. Go to the security tab. Select Users. Click Edit. Click on the Write attribute. This will now allow MC17 to write back the file state.xml. At least, it did for me.

Placing MC17 installation in another folder than Program Files is a good idea. It solves other problems as well, which I do not remember right now.
