Title: Cover art conflict
Post by: madfloyd on April 10, 2012, 07:15:38 am
Getting two different versions of the cover art (for audio) displaying at same time.

Options\File Location\Audio Mode: In the same folder as the file (folder.jpg)  is checked.

Symptom:  The browsing art (and also the FILE listing) is displaying cover art within .FLAC file  (wrong)
The cover art displayed on left sidebar (under "Display") is using folder.jpg             (correct)

I would like all cover art to use folder.jpg exclusively.

I have tried telling JRiver to rebuild cover art to no avail.

Bug or user error?

Thanks in advance.

Look at the [Image File] field for the tracks.

This explains the cover art system:

How do I look at the Image File field?

The wiki only says:
You can show the column 'Image File' to see where Media Center is looking for cover art.

It doesn't say how.  Can you enlighten me?

Also: when I do see it, I'm expecting it to say:  "Inside File" (The text 'Inside File' means the program should read from the file tag to get the art)

(I'm assuming this means 'use the artwork embedded in the audio file')

Assuming this is correct, I have three questions which the wiki doesn't answer:

1) why is it using the embedded art in the first place (since I told it to use folder.jpg)?
2) What do I do to change it?
3) Why doesn't the Tools > Cover Art > Quick Find In File / Cover Art Directory command work to replace the art with folder.jpg given that the rule is set (I suppose this might be a duplicate question to # 1)

Thanks in advance.

Quick response to see the Image File field:

a) add a column to the files view (right-click any column header in the files list)
b) add a column to a pane (right-click any panes column header)
c) open Action Window > Tag, and use the pulldown to either view all properties or add any given property to the set you currently see in the Tag Action Window.

1) The image inside the file take priority.
2) Select all the files that you want to change. Click Tools > Cover Art > Remove Cover Art. A pop-up window will say "Do you also want to permanently delete the cover art file from your hard drive?" Click "NO". Click Tools > Cover Art > Quick Find In File / Cover Art Directory.
3) I think when this is done it should overwrite the file inside the file but for some reason it doesn't.
