It appears my motherboard is done, so its time for a new desktop system.
I'd appreciate any recommendations for a powerful desktop system:
1) motherboard
2) memory
3) cpu
4) video card
Budget is fairly open, but I'll never buy the currently top-rated Intel chip.

1) motherboard: Intel media series DZ77BH55K
2) memory: Corsair 4Gx2 CML8GX3M2A1600C9
3) cpu: Intel i5 3570K
4) video card: none required
This hardware has new Intel HD4000 graphics. Will run ROHQ no problem as HD3000 graphics gets the job done now, but with not much room to spare. I just ordered this hardware (cpu available next week for $212).

Looks good! Don't forget to let us know how the HD4000 performs!

If you're still looking for advise, I would recommend MSI. I personally have the P67A-GD80 for my i7 and I can tell you it's one of the most stable boards I have had. I have it running with 16GB (4x4) Corsair Vengeance at 1600Mhz.
It's actually one of the few boards I've had that was plug and play and without any tweaks in the EFI/BIOS rock and rock solid. Right off the shelf it ran 24h memory tests (memtest86+) and a 24h stress test without failing, I hadn't changed a darn thing in the EFI/BIOS.
It was stable with default settings running an i7 on 4200mhz, no tweaks not even core voltage (800mhz overclock).
Link below shows my system running at 4,8Mhz stresstest, 24 hours no failures.

I've recommended this MSI board to 3 different people and they've been very happy with it having similar experiences. One guy just had 1 complaint: the manual was in engrish :D. I thought the manual was oke though but then again, I never need them so I don't pay much attention to them :D.
Good luck with your purchase.

Hulkss - A belated Thank You, this turned out to be a fine recommendation. I ended going w/16Gb, the i7-3770K, and am very happy with the setup.
I followed Glynor's advice and picked up the SBR i5-2500K for the interim while awaiting the shipment of the IVB. If anyone needs a < 2week old i5-2500K...
I'm running at about 66.5w @ low usage; there are 4 disks in the system. I almost bought the power supply (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=65820.0) that Matt liked, but thought I'd allow the trusty ol' Corsair HX620 to live out its life.
Thanks everyone for all the advice.

I ended up with the i7-3770K also as MicroCenter was out of i5-3570k's.
