Title: Red October HQ Movie Screen Grab?

Hi, is there any chance of implementing support for movie "Use Screen Grab for Thumbnail" when using Red October HQ ?

Now I am resorting to change to RO Std for thumbnailig, and then back but it is QUITE inconvenient....

It's a limitation of madVR, the renderer used for Red October HQ.

Hopefully madshi, the author of madVR, will get a chance to add support for screen grabs someday.

You can get screen grabs with ROHQ / madVR if you change the setting in madVR to use Windowed not FSE

When playing a video right click --> Direct Show Filter --> MadVR and then uncheck the option in madVR

the option is NOT cheked when using HQ in place of the grab screen, the legend "not available, etc" appears.

Applogies, I may have the wrong end of the stick.  When FSE is OFF in madVR you can press the "Print Screen" button and it is copied into the clipboard from which you can then use for the normal things.  What are you trying to do?

I'm trying to grab thumbnails @my screen res (16x9)  from movie for thumbnail view instead of the horrible box covers. I have always used that option when adding movies to may library.

So does this work?  Press PrtScreen to copy the screen shot to the clipboard and then you should be able to use "...Coverart --> Paste from Clipboard"

Yes that works, but I use a dual screen setup (win 7 x64) and printscreen captures BOTH monitors as one. CANT USE THAT AS COVERART.

¿Ideas?

Paste it into Paint, Select the bit you want then use "Edit --> Copy" and just that bit will then be in clipboard and you can then use in MC "...Coverart --> Paste from Clipboard"

yes I know that, I use photoshop. But it's MUCH easier changing to Red October Standard for thumbnailing and then back to HQ, thumbnails are not changed

Try - Alt+PrintScreen this should just grab the active screen
