For the past several months, MC does not delete files from my Sony Walkman (NWZ-S718F) when I delete them from inside MC. My wife has a similar model and has been having the same problem.
Not sure what to do and would appreciate help.

I've been doing extensive testing with conversion / syncing to handhelds, and discovered a number of issues. Most of them have now been resolved in MC, but this one (if its the same) is the remaining one.
Is it correct to assume you have enabled the setting: "Delete in handheld any files not in sync list"?
If so, I wonder if you might enable logging, and try a sync. When a file fails to be deleted, it might be interesting if you search the log to see if you have any lines containing:
CreateDeleteArray: Not deleting
and take note if those are the not-deleted tracks.

I don't see the option anywhere for "Delete in handheld any files not in sync list".
To give more details about how I load the Walkman, I generally right click on the "Drop Files Here" icon in the Action Window and go to "Details...". Then I delete the files I want to get rid of (often doing a Select All). Then I drag and drop albums.
I don't really do any auto-syncing of files/folders/playlists, etc.
It worked for years. I think it may have change with MC17 though I'm not 100% sure on that.

Look under Drives & Devices and you'll see your device. Right-click for Options. Alternatively, just open Tools > Options (Ctrl-O) and go to the Handheld section. You'll see the option. Of course, the device needs to be connected.

I've looked through those options repeatedly and don't see that option anywhere. Is there some other feature or option I need to turn on in (in MC or Windows) order to see it?

I've probably been sending you on a wild goose chase. I was trying to gather more data about why some items do not get deleted from the HH, but it sounds like your situation is not the same.
Maybe someone can provide more insight.

This was not a problem until recently and I'm a bit baffled.
I'm also curious why that option that you mentioned doesn't show up for me....

Because you're not syncing from a playlist. Select one from the right area in the HH options, and you'll see the option appear I believe.
But the interesting data would be in the log file. I was just trying to ensure the test case was identical.

I forgot to try logging it. I'll do that and see what happens.

My synchronizing with my Sansa Clip devices in MTP mode (which is what I believe the Sony is) also worked perfectly for years using various versions of MC. As I've mentioned with details over on the handhelds board, it broke somewhere after build 17.0.82 (that build works) and 17.0.85 (which doesn't work). It remains broken; luckily I can use MSC mode on the Clip to get around the problems (I don't think you have that option).

I have to open the player manually in Windows and delete the folders from there. Then either shutdown MC or unplug the Walkman and reconnect. Then it's good.
It's a bit of a pain, but not awful in the grand scheme of things.
