I have an issue where MC just stalls when I start MC.
I (first tried a reboot and then) uninstalled and reinstalled MC. I choose not to delete the registry entries. All options I had set were gone after the reinstall, but MC started fine and found my files. I then restored a library backup to try to get my settings back and MC now stalls again on startup.
When the issue originally started (MC stalling) was when I had changed my media HD from a usb 2 HD to a NAS and then accessed a view that checked for the existence of files (artist art). After I forced MC to quit I chose to revert to standard view and position etc. but MC just stalled at startup. Maybe MC is nevertheless somehow trying to initially show the problematic view (the option to return to the last used biew was set in).
Any ideas how I can get MC to start AND keep all the options I had set?

you can try to change in the registry, how mc should start...
set
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JRiver\Media Center 1x\Properties\Startup - Page
to 0

Thanks for the reply!
It turned out that MC still tried to show the problematic view on startup (although I told MC to revert to default view). That view was just extremely slow but eventually appeared (just now, at least some 30 minutes after trying to start MC and my original post).
