Title: No ripping if monitor is switched off!
Post by: MightyA-MAN on May 03, 2002, 05:39:14 am
Hi there!

I have a quite strange problem. Everytime I'm ripping and switch off my monitor/screen, MJ stops ripping my music. It will continue after I switched on the screen again. My monitor is an Eye-Q 650 with 4 USB ports (1 free, 1 Canon Ixus but not active, 1 joypad controller not active, 1 Razer BoomSlang Game Mouse active). Since there is no external disc/hard drive connected to the monitor, I think this is quite strange.

Is this a bug in MJ or is there a logic reason I don't know? Can anybody help? Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Mighty A-MAN

That's probably an issue with your OS or your hardware.  Turning a monitor on or off can create a power spike.

Thanks! While you might be right, I just wonder why other things are working fine with a shut down monitor (e.g. defragmenting the hard disks, downloading stuff).

By the way: I'm using Windows 98SE.
