Hey all, need some help please.
Is it best to leave Jrivers volume @ 100% and lower the volume of my soundcard? Or the other way around?
Reason I ask is if I put JRiver's volume at 100% and leave the "wave" volume at default on my Titanium hd, its clipping into the red zone and distorting.
Thanks!

Oh and by the way, i'm using Wasapi as the output and using internal volume. ;)
Atm I have it set this way.
JRiver using Wasapi, volume at 80% internal. Creative volume knob - about 75%, Audio creation mode "wave" - default at 75% (don't touch this one)
Which volume slider should I use out of the three?

Welcome. I'm a fellow Sennheiser lover.
With an X-Fi, you should use ASIO. See the note at the bottom here:

For volume, either system or internal is good. Lots more here:

Hi Matt,
Thanks for welcoming me, I feel at home already. ;D
Why change to Asio? I had a look at the links, but i'm confused as to why I should leave Wasapi alone.
I've been using Wasapi for a while, since foobar in fact, as many recommended it as being the best direct audio mode.
Cheers

The only way to bypass resampling with Creative, ASUS, and HT Omega cards is to use ASIO.
The resampling on those cards is quite good, but it's still better avoided when possible.

Ah I see!
No wonder there's like 3 possible volume controls to play with.. Lol
Will switch over and see how it sounds.
Ta mate!

What if you set MC to resample all to say 96k 24 bit and set the card software for the same. Reason I ask is that when using ASIO I get ticks (the sound that is) when Theater View images change, and occasionally at other times too. Lately I've been using WASAPI Event.
Thanks.
