Title: How do I keep Wife/Kids iTunes downloads off J River?
Post by: icenine on May 22, 2012, 09:41:57 am
Wife/Kids download onto iTunes and they end up on JRiver too.  I end up deleting them but what's the easy way here?

Are they downloading to folder/location that MC monitors (imports from)?

I don't know what the heck they are doing.  The other day my Wife downloaded tunes onto phone and next thing they are popping up all over Media Center.  I'll have to follow up here and dig deeper.

Apart from Auto import folders there is also the choice of adding played media to MC when for instance played with right click commands. That might possibly be the culprit. You find the "Automatically import files when played" option under Options -> General. Removing MC right click integration might also do the trick, or to tell them to stay away from it :)

Well that may be the source of the problem....

To fix, change the folder iTunes downloads to.  Make a new folder if needed to be sure.
Go to MC, File > Library > Import > Configure Auto Import.
Then make sure that iTunes download folder is not shown.

Easy as pie.

Automatically import Files when played is NOT checked.  I'll have to look into the folder option.

Right click on a problem file, and use the Locate feature to find it.
