Title: Problem with cover art import

I am having a strange issue when I import movie data. A fair amount of the movie covers are in a language other than English. Even when I update the movie info individually for a title, sometimes the only cover art option is in Spanish or something other than English.  When I look up the title on TMDB website, I don't even see the cover art that I am trying to replace with the English art, even though when I select the movie info it is from TMDB. Any idea what could be going on?

I had that happen to me many builds ago. I think there was a bug in the cover art retrieval programming. Are you running the latest build (17.0.160 or higher version)?

I am using the latest build. Maybe I should try to reinstall the program...not sure.

Sometimes TMDB has a foreign cover as the #1 cover.

I haven't been able to find any way to handle this automatically.  The response of images just has a list, like this:

Sorry to revive an old thread. If this was discussed subsequently, please just let me know where.

I'm not sure how the TMDb API works, but on the website when looking at the various movie posters in the collection for each movie there is a rating and a number of votes. Could you default to the one with the highest rating? Or is that how it works already?

Again, I'm not sure exactly how MC17 picks which movie poster to go with but it has lead to some somewhat strange results for me. For example, for the Star Wars movies, Episodes IV and V have the new blueray poster, whereas Episode VI has the old THX DVD poster. The first poster to come up for Episode VI on the TMDb website is the blueray but that doesn't seem to translate to the Get Movie & TV Info option.
