I was wondering with all the music freaks hanging out here if this would actually survive. Maybe it won't But It Could Be Fun :D.
Someone posts a line from the lyrics of a song and people guess what it is. Simple. If you get it right you get to post a new one for others to guess.
Obviously its easy to cheat but I'm guessing we are all mature enough not to post the answer if you had to search the internet for it.
Also, picking something obscure not many people have heard of isn't fun either. Pick something relatively popular/familiar to keep it funny.
The one posting the lyrics line needs to confirm who got it right so we don't get multiple folks who think they got it right posting new lines.
Also, when you've posted a new line, check it regularly to see if someone got the answer right. If no one gets it in lets say 48 hours, post the answer with a new line (an easier one :P).
I'll start :). This one's from the early 70's.
Take my word, I'm a madman don't you know?
-
Slightly before my time, but I'll take a punt:
Hit me with your rhythm stick?
-
Elton John?

-
Aww...Of course! I have it in my MC! Was that really early 70s? Wow!
Ivy B always said I was terrible with lyrics! Never mind!

Since I know I got it right (I have the HD Tracks album) I'll do the next one. Since Father's Day is coming up . . .
And, papa, I don't think I said, "I love you" near enough

Garthe brooks....
-
Hint - It was released in 1981 and became the #1 song on the Billboard adult contemporary chart.
-
Kenny Rogers or alabama? Man right in my decade too! I'll have to think about it on my drive home.

Garthe brooks...
yup, sounds a bit 'Country' to me. Way out of my zone.

I've only ever heard it played on classic rock stations.

I was thinking Neil Young or CSNY, but I can't come up with a song. I'm probably wrong though.

Although this band has many albums, this track is from one of the two albums put out by this band in 1970.

Paul Simon - Late In The Evening

Funny I just did the same thing, just in the afternoon :).
I think when you're pretty darn sure you got it right you can just quote the next one to keep it going. otherwise it just falls dead waiting on confirmation.

Your turn to quiz the crowd.
