Title: tv playback - green bars on sd def channels

hi,
   my tv - usb tuner is now showing green stripes in the corner during playback, only on sd def digital australian channels.  The problem only occurs in mc. wmc plays from the device fine. i think it started after an mc auto update. i have reinstalled mc17, the problem remains. Can anyone advise the next step?

I've seen this before. Not sure why but I think it's an artifact of using h/w acceleration. You could try disabling this in MC's video options. Alternatively, use the "Crop edges" feature (also under video options) or use the up/down arrow keys during fullscreen playback to navigate to "Aspect Ratio" - left/right arrows to select a crop setting.

Thanks rayam,

I didn't have any luck. Crop isn't an option as the bars a in a L shape and extend about 10% into the image. 

Does anyone know how to force a codec reinstall?
